CELBAN Vocabulary

Increase your fluidity when speaking and writing in a medical context in English.

Check out the world’s FIRST medical collocation series for Internationally Educated Health Professionals seeking a license to practice in the medical field in English speaking nations!

This series was created by CELBANPrep’s Kim Kara, who used her Master in Education to prepare hundreds of Internationally Educated Nurses preparing for the CELBAN: a discipline-specific English proficiency exam where all of the questions and examples for reading, writing, listening and speaking are in a medical context.

Over ten years of teaching Internationally Educated Health Professionals, Kim identified weaknesses that were common to many of the IEHPs when it came to writing and speaking. First, she created the CELBAN or IELTS: Grammar Essentials Series. (It has four modules: one for each weakness. They are: Nouns & Articles, Verbs & Verbals, Agreement Errors, and Punctuation. Now, for the first time ever, Kim has created the CELBANPrep’s Medical Collocations Series. There are three levels: beginner, intermediate and advanced. Why? Because medical collocations – are a main weakness in speaking and writing not only for IENs but also for all other Internationally Educated Health Professionals: doctors, dentists, pharmacists, physiotherapists, midwives, x-ray techs and the like.

CELBANPrep’s Medical Collocations: Samper gives you access to some of the over 500 medical keywords, and over 5000 medical collocations. This includes: adjectives, adverbs, verbs, nouns, gerunds, prepositions and common phrases; symptoms, illnesses, lifestyle and personnel. Book Three contains even more nouns and collocations about and for the human body.

This is not a Medical Terminology resource. It is so much more! Specifically created for the needs of Internationally Educated Health Professionals seeking licensure to practice not only in Canada but around the world in ALL English-speaking nations. That is why they can be used as a self-study or in the classroom, in schools, universities, and other organizations that provide career and professional development.
